Moogfest has always been our annual retreat as a NC based audio/visual company. Being based in Durham, we would drive the 3 hours to the mountains of Asheville every year to experience the wonderful atmosphere, live music and amazing and informational music industry educational workshops that take place over the few days Moogfest lasts. We even volunteered a couple of years ago.
That is why, to our surprise, we were elated when we found out that Moogfest had switched management and would be held in THE SUMMER, bi-annually and would be moving to Durham for 2016. We know our city has been growing and adding a bunch of hotels and art galleries, but we never would have imagined that our market here in Durham was so great that anyone would want to host such a large-scale and renowned festival here. We are still getting over the shock. I am just interested to see what it will look like when it's all set up and world famous acts take the stage all over our city and professional music industry reps and executives conduct seminars and workshops that will determine the course of the music industry.
Relating to the festival switching over into the summer is awesome. In Asheville the festival used to be held in October, right around halloween, so it was captivating that everyone always attended the festival in costumes but on the downside it was usually very COLD! Especially with it being in the mountains, means that it was extra extra cold sometimes to the point where you didn't want to stay sometimes. I recall being at the Childish Gambino concert a few years back and it was so cold I couldn't even dance. It was crazy because he had on shorts and a t-shirt...the true mark of a star. At this point I had never even heard of Childish Gambino. So, needless to say, we are very happy that we don't have to drive 4 hours to get to Moogfest, which we would definitely have done anyway, and we also get to enjoy this wonderfulness in the summer! Good times!
Plus, to put icing on the cake, we are happy to announce that we have been contracted to work the main stage. Yes, lookout for Audio Rule on audio throughout the duration of the event.
Moogfest is one of the biggest music festivals there is and it will be held in Durham this year!
We would love to connect and network with music industry professionals who will be in attendance. Send us a message to connect.
See you there!
Also, I would highly suggest visiting the Moogfest FB page, it is very neat and artsy. There are always cool and futuristic videos and lots of good reads.
Until next time...

There has to be a point where your dreams stop being fantasy and start becoming reality. We are writing this post because we have come to recognize that we have been doing more fantasizing about our dreams coming true which translates into less time actually acting on bringing our dreams into reality. When I say dreams I mean our hopes for the future. Everything we always wanted to be and quite possibly could one day aspire to. Maybe "dreams" is not the right word to use in this sense but lets say, our destiny. Our "'destin'ation." Where we are headed. At what point do we stop fantasizing about where we are headed in life and start really being on our path? It makes no sense, sitting around pouting about where we are and how we have no opportunities and we are not building skills and sharing our talents. At what point do we begin to share our talents and reap the benefits from our work at using our time wisely to become skilled? We have all been equipped with everything we need to compete fairly. The best way to compete is to not compete at all, but to love our fellow human being. This attitude will put us far ahead of anyone who thinks its all a competition. No matter what, we'll always have one up on someone who thinks differently; the truth in that we are all here together. When all the competing is done, how far did we progress together for the betterment of mankind? Might we have progressed further had we worked together as opposed to thinking about our own selfish gain? I do not intend for these words to come back and bite me like "look at me, who am I helping?" I intend for this to serve as a reminder to always help, no matter what. I am a far more useful person having helped.
The whole point I am trying to make is that we must not get caught up in fictional ideas based off fictional characters living a made-up life on tv. It is far greater the gift of real life of which we have been so humbly blessed. Get out of the internet and into your life so we can make a change for the betterment of humankind.
